Serenity

This was painted as part of the 365 challenge even though I haven't been posting them lately. I let life get in the way of art! I love the calm peaceful feel and colors of this painting. The colors were chosen by request of an upcoming commission. Still working on painting ideas but since they wanted something calm and soothing, this might be a good study for that piece. Autumn Dreams

It's a cold day here in Oklahoma, and I must still be wanting fall weather! At least the fall season is one of my favorite color schemes. This is a palette knife painting which started out using some paint still on my palette from another painting. It's wonderful how you can take a little bit of leftover paint and make something totally new from it. Thanks for looking!

About Me

My original love was the performing arts. I grew up dancing, and it was my dream to be a professional ballet dancer. That was not to be so I turned to other forms of creativity. It's only been within the past few years that I discovered painting. I'd forgotten how much I loved drawing as a child. Maybe this is a passion re-awakened! I'm a self-taught artist and always looking to learn new techniques. One of the things I've always classified myself as is a "perpetual student". I love learning, and I love experimenting with new techniques. For me, this is one of the best parts of art; experiencing new things is more important to me than the finished piece. So you never know what I'll end up with. Hope you'll enjoy the experience too!
