Serenity

Serenity

8 x 10 Oil on Canvas Panel
This was painted as part of the 365 challenge even though I haven't been posting them lately.  I let life get in the way of art!  I love the calm peaceful feel and colors of this painting.  The colors were chosen by request of an upcoming commission.  Still working on painting ideas but since they wanted something calm and soothing, this might be a good study for that piece.  Thanks for looking.

Open Door

Open Door

8 x 10 Oil on Canvas Panel
365/2013 No 16
Day 16 of the 365 art challenge!  For some reason, I've been thinking of doors lately.  With the blues and browns which are one of my favorite color combinations, I find this a very restful painting.  Thanks for looking.

Twinkle Toes

Twinkle Toes

365/2013 No 15
6 x 6 Oil on 1-1/4 Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Those that know me know that ballet was my first love!    There's so much grace, beauty and strength in ballet.  While I have done some ballet drawings, I haven't yet attempted to paint the grace of it.  You may see a series of ballet related paintings as that's something I've had in mind for quite some time.

Geometrics

Geometrics

365/2013 No. 14
8 x 10 Mixed Media
While I did not post No. 13 for the 365 art challenge, I did create yesterday! I hand make journals with painted covers, hand torn archival paper and coptic stitched.  Those are what I worked on yesterday, and am still working on.
This piece is a mixed media piece.  I'd been waiting on some layers to dry before I painted it.  While I've never really done much with geometric shapes, that's what called to me on this piece.  Love how the colors came together and even blended in some spots.  May need to try this again with a straight painting piece. Thanks for looking.

Autumn Dreams

Autumn Dreams

365/2013 No. 12
8 x 10 Oil Abstract on Canvas
It's a cold day here in Oklahoma, and I must still be wanting fall weather!  At least the fall season is one of my favorite color schemes.  This is a palette knife painting which started out using some paint still on my palette from another painting.  It's wonderful how you can take a little bit of leftover paint and make something totally new from it.  Thanks for looking!
