Letting Go

Letting Go

8x10 Oil on Canvas.
This painting represents part of my own personal journal and as such, is a companion piece to the painting titled "Emotion". It's been quite a journey! But looking forward to the new chapters.

This is also very different from my first version - only the open hand remains the same. While I always had the light in mind, the original had much bolder color. After attending a retreat this past weekend on Awakenings...New Beginnings, I decided the light needed to be a little more subtle. I'm please with the final effect.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
(Isaiah 41:10)

Bunny

Bunny

5 x 7 oil on canvas.
This bunny is part of a project I'm working on that is also stretching me. Animals are not my usual forte so it's being a challenge to try to capture the image. 5 x 7 is also a little smaller than my usual so smaller details are being a new experience. This was also my first time to create a "frame" around an object. While the photo appears my frame is a bit off, in the original painting, it is even all around. It's being a fun project, and I'm looking forward to rest of the paintings in it. This is #2 of 7.

Two Hearts As One

Two Hearts As One

I surprised myself with this painting by the subject. Valentine's Day is not really my thing but realized
it's really about love. It doesn't have to be just between a couple. It can be many types of love. So this is
my representation of love.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love."

Daybreak

Daybreak

5 x 7 Oil on Canvas panel.
In this painting, I was trying to create an impression of the purples, pinks and oranges of a morning sky. Of course, no one can actually capture God's glorious work! For the  most part, though, I'm please with how this turned out.

In Motion

In Motion

12 x 12 Oil on Canvas
This originally started out as background for another painting I have in mind. It turns out my painting buddy, her husband and I all liked it so well that I decided to keep it as a painting. I love the textures and colors in this painting and can picture so many different things in this. What do you see?
